Throwing in the towel to pick one up

Yesterday was probably the worst day of my life to date. I quit my first race. I passed the 7.5 km point heading into my last lap of classic, 2.5 km left in the classic portion. I came around the corner to see my coach Amy cheering me on with all her heart and I break down in the middle of the trail, Balling my eyes out! I could hardly breath, my muscles were shaking and I had just quit. I was losing time to the leaders worse than I had ever. I was down around 4 minutes when normally I am barely down 2 minutes after 10km.

I as most of you know my bag has been stolen. everything gone. I received a phone call last night from the air carrier last night, I was first a little excited, maybe they had found my bag? But unfortunately they were calling to ask for an email to send a declaration form to me.

Until that point in the race I really didn't think that the situation had been that hard on me but all the additional stresses added to the body was not a good combo. After talking to Amy, while balling my eyes out it helped me feel better, also talking to Amanda really helped, she really made made me feel better with a great pep talk! Mom also sent me a text message which helped me bring up my spirits!

After it was all said and done I realized that on that day it made better sense to throw in the towel and start thinking about my day, Sprint Day. I have some great boards lined up and I am ready to give it my all and try to collect my plane ticket to Europe.

I'll update you post sprint if you don't know where to look for results this link should help;
